Recruitment Consultant

Are you an ambitious, confident and driven individual? If the answer is ‘yes’ then working for Legal People could be a great next step in your career. Legal People is a division of IntaPeople, Wales’ largest independent recruitment consultancy and an award-winning leading professional organisation. We are currently seeking high calibre candidates with either legal qualifications or some professional sales or recruitment experience within the legal arena to join us at an exciting time during the company’s development.

Operating from our Cardiff office, Legal People specialises in permanent, contract and temporary recruitment across all legal sectors and at all levels of seniority. Our client base ranges across leading Legal 500 and Chambers-rated practices, public sector organisations and industry throughout the UK, Europe and beyond.

As a Legal Recruitment Consultant, the focus of your role will be to act as the main point of contact between clients and candidates. This is predominantly a sales/recruitment focused role, working within a well developed and successful desk at Legal People. If successful your role will be to ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained during the full recruitment process and consequently that your own financial targets and KPIs are met. Other duties of a recruitment consultant will include:

  • Sourcing new candidates for the business using a variety of methods including headhunting, referrals, networking and internet search engines/job boards.
  • Managing the existing database by remaining in close contact with candidates who may be looking to change jobs within the next 6 months.
  • Conducting telephone based screening of potential suitable candidates.
  • Conducting telephone based or face to face interviews with candidates to complete the first phase of registration.
  • Submitting potential/suitable candidates to client specific needs.
  • Arranging of client/candidate interviews
  • Acceptance negotiations/start date confirmations and rejection feedback when applicable

Although previous experience working as a recruitment consultant is desirable it is not essential. We would also consider individuals with solid experience within a professional sales environment. The successful candidate must have the following skills:

  • A tenacious personality that will thrive within a sales/recruitment environment.
  • Excellent client communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • High self motivation and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
