CONTRACT LITIGATION SOLICITOR
BRISTOL
£DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE
My client is a large national firm with offices in Bristol. They are looking for a Solicitor to work within the contract team, which forms part of their successful civil litigation department. The successful candidate must be well-organised and have a practical approach to problem solving whilst being capable of dealing with a wide range of clients.
You will run a fast and multi-track contract litigation caseload covering areas such as commercial contracts, misrepresentation, consumer contract disputes and construction disputes. Claims will be largely funded by legal expenses insurance and you will be acting for both private individuals and companies. The successful candidate will need to be a straight-talking, confident and commercially focussed individual with the ability to deal with individuals at boardroom level in a robust fashion.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Complying with insurer clients’ agreed service standards
2. Complying with the firm's case management system
3. Proactively handling own caseload, including drafting documents, utilising Civil Procedure Rules and tactics, and conducting own chambers advocacy
4. Billing
Essential Competencies
1. Strong organisational skills;
2. Pragmatic approach to solving problems;
3. Client focused approach;
4. Excellent communication skills;
5. Ability and knowledge of working with a case management system;
6. Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook).
Experience
It is essential the successful candidate will have experience of handling their own civil/commercial litigation caseload, and will have between 1-5 years experience.
Education
1. Qualified Solicitor/ FILEX/ experienced paralegal
